Business Litigation Concerns

Can I write my business contracts without the help of an attorney?

While it is not recommended, you can write your own contracts. We recommend having at least one consultation with our business attorneys to make sure you are starting in the right place; alternatively, it may be a good idea to request a review of your contracts once they have been composed.

Will you still help me with my contract dispute if you didn't help me draft it?

Certainly. If we have worked with you from the start, it is simpler for us to step in for negotiations; however, it is not necessary for you to have written your contracts with us. The best way to protect yourself is to have an experienced business attorney guide you from the beginning, though we have counseled plenty of clients for whom this is not the case.

A former employee took with him our client list and is sapping our business. Do I have options?

In the ideal, we would be able to refer to a non-compete arrangement to help settle this dispute. However, if you do not have this type of contract with this former employee, it does not mean you don't have options. Depending on the type of information the former employee is using, you may be able to pursue a claim regarding leaked trade secrets, or something similar.

Criminal Defense Litigation Concerns

How do I know if I need an attorney?

Anyone accused of a crime should consult with an attorney. Even if you intend to plead guilty, only a skilled criminal defense attorney will be able to counsel you as to how you should plead guilty and how to negotiate sentencing.

How do I know if you're the right attorney?
